“This question says ‘My dad won’t let me wear makeup, because he says fourteen is too young.  How am I supposed to feel as pretty as my friends who are allowed to wear makeup?’”

“I understand that you want to wear makeup like your friends and by the way, I bet, I know , I can tell from the email you are so pretty you don’t even need it, and I think, pretty much every fourteen year old is so pretty they don’t need it.  You know guys like girls who don’t wear a lot of makeup. They don’t want stuff rubbing off of them, on them. And, you have your whole life to wear a lot of makeup. And I bet your fourteen year old skin is beautiful and I bet you look great without it.” (x)

(of course it’s fine if you choose to wear make-up at 14 and what guys like isn’t always the best reason to do things, but I love Amy and telling young girls they’re beautiful just the way they are makes me happy)
